September 2019 will forever be etched on Philip Sesoma’s mind, as one of those life changing moments. It was the year that world renowned Evangelist Heward Mills Dag set foot in Botswana and like any other Motswana, Philip was eager to feed from this great man of God. Like any other bethelite- the church he had served as a Sunday school teacher- he made a date to be there for all the services. Little did he know that this was the beginning of a life changing moment.
Philip grew up in Maphashalala a little known village North of Gaborone, from a very humble background. Like any other growing child, Sesoma had a dream, a dream that he did not know how it would come to pass given his humble background, but God who sees our beginning and the end, had a plan, a good one at that. Sesome dreamt of becoming a great leader of the gospel. He was passionate of the gospel, and whenever he had that chance, from a tender age, the young man would preach the gospel passionately.
Bethel Church For All Nations Maphashalala was born in 2011 and among the new members was young Philip, he loved the work of Christ. Philip would gather the young children of the village and teach them the little he knew about Christ, all this while praying and hoping that a day would come when he would preach the gospel to a larger crowd. All this time, Sesome would tell his pastor and Mentor, Prophet Julius Haamuchenje – founder and overseer of Bethel Church For All Nations(BCFAN), how he longed and desired to be a pastor and preach to the world. Prophet would constantly encourage and pray for Him knowing that as it is written in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask or ever imagine through the power that works in the inside of us.
During the much awaited Healing Jesus Campaign in Botswana, Evangelist Heward Mills made an announcement that he had scholarship at their bible school (Anakazo) in Ghana for Batswana who wanted to be trained as pastors. Pastor Julius took the word seriously and thought of his son Phillip. He called the pastor for Maphashalala branch to call him and let him apply and attend the interviews.
This is the chance that the 22-year old-aspiring- pastor had all along waited for. He did not hesitate to apply for this chance, knowing that he had back-up from his mentor Prophet Julius and indeed in heaven. His name was among the few chosen to attend classes in a far away land of Ghana. His joy was now complete. God had finally answered his prayer as it is written, in Isaiah 60: 22, when the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen. The Lord had made it happen for Phillip. God provided through his mentor, Prophet Julius, through well-wishers and through Bethel Church for all nations.
In the afternoon hours of 5th November 2019, Philip, accompanied by his mother, brother, friends, his mentor Prophet Julius and a number of BCFAN’s members, Philip boarded Ethiopian Airline, eagerly waiting to start his studies in Ghana to the glory and honor of God.
Today Philip testifies, that indeed when a prophet steps into your territory, things begin to shift in the right direction.
