John 12:27 – 29 “27. Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” 29. Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
Many times we are not troubled by the assignment, but we are troubled because we do not understand the will of God for our lives. If we do not understand the will of God, we cannot understand the purpose therefore we hold onto the idols in our hearts. We allow these idols to come before the Lord and enquire; instead of us enquiring for our souls. These idols are normally manifest in our prayers, they dominate our prayers because we have grown to believe that without these life cannot be a miracle; or that God has not performed a miracle in our lives. Because of these idols, we even resist or question the prophetic word we receive from the Bible or servant of God.
How many times have we brushed aside God because we read the word; or pray for a miracle but the scripture revealed to us is not in line with the answer we want? But Jesus teaches us not to cling to the idols of our hearts; but understand the purpose that we have come to that moment where the two paths emerge; one to submit to the desires of the flesh; the other to submit to the will of God; one to glorify God, the other gratify the idols in our hearts.
However when you understand the will of God; you understand purpose; and when you understand purpose you know you have to let go and let God be glorified. And in that moment; those who are with you or around you will see the glory of God and testify on your behalf.
