Matthew 16:23 “But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Do you ever wonder why there is so much reading material in the waiting room? Why there is always magazines on the table waiting for you? It is so that you do not lose patience and also that you can also remain informed while you wait. If you wait doing nothing; your mind will tell you all sorts of things that will cause you to keep looking at the time and lose your patience.

Peter did not understand the purpose that Jesus had come; just like nobody would understand why you are sitting in the waiting room. It is your responsibility to keep yourself informed with reading material relevant to what you are waiting for. If Peter was mindful of the things of God, He would have understood the purpose Jesus came to serve. Therefore it is your responsibility to keep yourself mindful of the things of God whom you approached out of faith. Remember the reason you came to God is because the things of man have failed you so many times; the wisdom of man has brought nothing but disappointment; the knowledge of the doctors with their PHD’s has become useless; therefore why bother being mindful of the things of man that have failed you.

Do not be an offence to the Word; as the Bible says “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”(Hebrews 11:6). The first step of faith is calling to Him; and once you have done that, wait for Him; because He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him or are continously mindful of Him.
