    • Many times we cry in our workplaces about what we are getting. We have
      very high expectations in terms of salary, in terms of benefits etc. But
      what are we really worth? Are we working hard or working smart? Working
      hard may not reap the rewards that you expect,  because your focus is on
      the quantity of work that you do and not the quality that you deliver.
      This is why  it feels like your salary does not match the work you put
      in. You are working by sight and not by faith.
      The journey becomes difficult because you have no vision nor plan;
      therefore you use more energy than one who has vision and plan. It looks
      like a never ending cycle of hard labour because you want the bosses to
      see your physical hard work. But what is working smart?
      Working Smart begins with having a personal vision of where you want to
      be or what you want to achieve in your career. Then having a vision of
      what you want to achieve over and above the role you have been given at
      work. And then discipline yourself by offloading unwanted loads, or
      anything that will disturb you between the hours that you have been
      given to perform your duties. Lastly, and most importantly “Commit
      everything to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall make it come to
      pass” (Psalms 37:5)
      But let me warn you, it does not end only in the work place. All this
      should also flow into your life outside of work, because what you do
      with your salary or reward, either helps your goal or increases your
      pressure in the workplace. Your disciplined lifestyle will make you
      realise your truth worth, and when you receive your salary you will be
      suprised how much you can accomplish with it. We are frustrated with our
      work and feel our salaries are not enough because we have no discipline
      in our personal life, and we fail to realise that our lifestyle choices
      eventually either relieve or put pressure on our rewards or salaries;
      which then pressures us to feel that we are not getting our worth. Yet
      the Bible says “And the Lord will meet all your needs according to His
      riches and glory in Christ Jesus” (Phillipians 4:19).
      The painful truth to many might be  this; that what we are receiving as
      a salary or reward for our work, is what the Lord has provided for you
      according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus. The only problem is
      this; we lack the discipline that He as a Father requires from His
      children and have shown our unfaithfulness to the little He has
      entrusted us with and as a faithful and genuine Father, He knows if He
      opens a door for more, it will only be more destructive for our lives.

      successful life” – T.W.Moagi
